Hello everyone,

you might have noticed a change. I’ve moved my website to a new host for multiple reason. Mainly because I wanted to get away from wordpress and improve the performance of the site.

I’m using Nginx as my web server, which is a lightweight and efficient web server. You might already have noticed the difference in performance. The pages just open in an instant. To keep everything in order, I am using Hugo. Hugo is a static site generator that makes it somewhat easy to manage all the pages and files.

I moved away from a hosted Wordpress instance to a vps managed by me and hosted by IONOS. This allows me to have full control over my server. There are some drawbacks with this approach, but as long as I automate everything, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Also I tried to migrate the comments the best I can. Its not perfect, but at least they are still there.

I do enjoy the comments, so it would be sad to loose them.

A quick overview

Let me show you a bit of the layout.

At the top we have the day / night switch (1), next to it a color changer (2). I liked two color schemes so rather than deciding for one, I give you the option.

Above the posts, we have the buttons for the “List” and “Grid” view (3). The current one you see in the screenshot is the grid.

Below that, we have the categories, tags and the archives (4) (5). I keep them collapsed at default. I think this look a bit more clean.
