Hey there. My Name is Gökhan. I am an IT Administrator / IT Service Provider currently working for a mid-sized company in Germany.
As you might have guessed already (considering the Name), this will be just another IT Blog on the vast plains of the internet.
So then why make another one? Because I want to… This will be mainly for me for fun, to write down stuff and to get some practice writing in English (not a native speaker. Which should be quite obvious.). But if, by any chance, this could help you in fixing a problem or learning new stuff, then why not share it?
To give you a bit of a background on me. I have now 10 years (almost to the day 😉 ) of IT experience, doing mid-sized deployments of networks and server/storage infrastructure, Virtualization with VMWare vSphere / Hyper-V, deploying and migrating Microsoft / Linux applications and a little bit of O365/Azure. But in the past 3 or so years, my main focus was networks. Meaning switches, routers, firewalls, APs and all the other good stuff that comes with it.
So do I have any certificates to verify all this… Not really. I never really benefited from doing certifications. The few I have, like the ACSA (Aruba Certified Switching Associate) or a few from Sophos, I did because it was required for some project or to keep the status with a partner. Everything I know is basically self-taught or by asking colleagues.
But there are a few certifications I would like to do, like ACSP and CCNA, CCNP.
What will be the main focus of this website, you might ask? I don’t know. Anything I can think of I guess. Most of it will be Linux and Network related I think, but I will mix in some Microsoft Windows Servers here and there.
Now I have been rambling long enough. As I said, I have no idea what exactly I want to do with this website but hopefully, there will be some useful information at some point.
Yes, i commented to myself. Testing things.
I like the way you write. It’s concise and no-nonsense, yet always provides important context and a proper list of steps
I came across your website via Google, looking for pointers and tips regarding Huawei Cloudengine/VRP
I’m a network engineer in study and have some experience with Cisco, Huawei Cloudengine and Nvidia Onyx/Cumulus
I’ll be reading your blog from time to time. Keep it up!
Hello Patrick,
thank you for those kind words.
